Pink wedding at Mount Nelson!

In April we played for a beautiful Pink Wedding at the Mount Nelson Hotel www.mountnelson.co.za We began to play under the oak trees on a ravishing day. We selected a mix of light classics and Eastern European items to play before the ceremony. The guests were buoyant and beautifully dressed, eager to see their friends tie the knot!

The two handsome grooms had arranged a wonderful multi-cultural ceremony in the garden, as one was Jewish, and the other, Afrikaans. Warren and his groom said their moving vows to each other in a Jewish ceremony provided by Sili, the wonderful lady marriage officiant who so often presides over Jewish and mixed weddings. At the end of the ceremony, the grooms stamped on the glass as is traditional, symbolising the remembrance of suffering within one’s joy, and we played Simantov, Mazeltov for the exit of the couple.

Pre-drinks were held around the fountain and a happy time was had by all.
